I have an American Express card from First National Bank of Omaha. It’s a regular 1% cash back card, which compared to many 2% cash back cards available right now is that impressive. The reason I opened this card to take advantage of the Amex Offers, with an added perk of free Experian FICO score lookup. As far as I know, not that many credit cards offer free Experian FICO credit score.
Then one day I received an email from First National Bank of Omaha, titled “Are you using your American Express Travel Benefits?”
Turned out, all American Express cards have some great travel benefits and I can’t wait to share it on my little blog!
1.Auto Rental Insurance
Are you tired of these rental car agents trying to sell you insurance when you are getting your rental car? I am. So tired. And don’t get me started on how one time it was added to my car rental agreement without even being agreed by me.
Here’s the good news, American Express offers auto rental insurance for FREE. It covers up to $50,000 coverage to the rental car due to collision or theft. Simply use an American Express card and say no the annoying rental car sales agents.
Keep in mind that it’s only covering the rental car. If you are at fault for an accident that involves damaging another car, you will still need additional insurance. Another thing to note is that the rental period cannot exceed 30 days and some exotic cars are excluded. For details, check out this article from René’s Points.
2.Travel Accident Insurance
